What You Need Before Signing Up for Binance
Choose a registration method you can access, check your device and ID, and find out which materials can wait until they are requested.
Before you register, choose a contact method or a supported sign-in account you control, and check that you can open it on the device you plan to use. Keep your own valid ID nearby if you want to continue to identity verification. Proof of address needs separate preparation only when the current process asks for it.

The checklist
For creating the account
- Your contact or sign-in account
- Choose from the methods on the current registration screen. Confirm that you can access the inbox, phone number or provider account yourself; check which account is selected.
- A new password, if requested
- Follow the requirements next to the password field. A provider sign-in screen may have a different sequence. Do not reuse another account's password.
- A device and an official entry
- Before entering information, check the website address or the app's source. Make sure you can return to the registration page after reading a code.
For identity verification
- Your valid ID
- Check which documents the current country and document selectors accept. Have the original available and check its expiry date.
- A camera and suitable light
- For document capture or the face check, use a device that can provide the requested image. Camera permissions are checked when that step opens.
Only when requested
- Proof of address
- Read the accepted document types and date limit for your situation before obtaining a bill or statement.
The checklist is grouped by when each item is used. Create the account first, then continue to identity verification as directed. Keep your ID and a camera-ready device nearby if you want to complete both in one sitting. Before entering information, also read the account eligibility and service-availability checks for the requirements that apply to you.
Email or phone number?
The website screen captured in our registration guide has an Email/Phone number field. Other supported routes include Google, Apple and Telegram. Choose from what your current official screen offers; you do not need to make every method work before starting.
Use a contact or provider account that belongs to you and that you expect to keep. A work or school address can become inaccessible when you leave. A borrowed phone or rented number leaves someone else able to receive messages intended for your account. If you cannot currently open your chosen inbox or provider account, recover access there before using it for registration.

Binance's SMS verification help says coverage is unavailable in some countries and regions. That article discusses SMS authentication; its alternatives for existing accounts do not mean a new user can replace a registration code with a passkey. Use a different registration method only if the current sign-up page offers it and you have not already created an account that needs recovery.
What a test message tells you
You can send an ordinary email from another address, or ask someone to text your number. If it does not arrive, check the destination and inbox or phone service first. Check blocked-message folders and any visible account or storage warning. Do not turn off all phone protection merely to run this test.
Once an ordinary test message arrives, check the Binance code separately: confirm the destination on the registration screen, open the matching inbox or messaging app, and follow the resend instructions. Verification messages may use a different delivery route or meet different filtering rules. If the actual code is missing, use the email code checks or SMS code checks. Record that the ordinary test arrived as useful troubleshooting context while checking where delivery of the verification message stopped.
If you use Google, Apple or Telegram
Read the account name or address shown by Google, Apple or Telegram before continuing, especially on a shared device. Select your own account. If you remember registering with that method before, use its login option to find the existing Binance account. If you are unsure which provider account you used, check your registration records before approving the next request.
The Telegram flow in Binance’s app instructions asks you to choose between creating a new account and linking an existing one, and may then request an email address or phone number. Choose the action that fits your account situation and keep access to the contact method requested next. After returning to Binance, review the details filled into the form before submitting them.
If the page says your contact is already registered, or shows an unfamiliar existing account, see email or phone already registered. A recycled number should not be used to take over somebody else's account.
Your device and the app
Choose a device on which you can read the form and check incoming messages. A computer lets you place the instructions beside the form; a phone is convenient for photographing your ID and completing a face check. If you plan to continue to verification, check that the camera shows a usable picture. Grant the official page the required access when the capture step opens, using a device and capture option that the page supports.
- Browser: use a current browser and confirm the address before entering information. Keep the registration tab open when switching to your inbox. Do not close it just to copy a code.
- App: start from the confirmed Binance download page and choose the download method for your device. If it opens a store, check that listing's current compatibility requirements. An older screenshot or another region's listing cannot establish compatibility with your phone.
- Shared device: check who is signed in before proceeding. Avoid saving your password or document images to someone else's browser or photo library. Use your own device when you cannot keep the account and materials separate.
If you're unsure what's official, read how to find the official Binance website and app. It also covers unavailable listings and downloads that will not start. An unofficial installer is not a substitute for resolving those problems.
Plan how to switch between the form and the code message. For example, if both are on one phone, return through the app or tab switcher instead of reopening the original link each time. Check that the page still asks for the same destination before entering a code. If the session expired, follow the current restart instructions instead of applying an old code to a different request.
If you change device after starting, first establish whether the account already exists. Continue with the same account and sign-in method where supported. What identity verification needs
Binance's personal identity verification instructions describe document and face checks after account creation. Prepare for the options actually shown for your residence and document; a general checklist cannot replace that selection.
Valid identification
Passports, identity cards and driving licences may appear among the accepted choices, depending on the country and process. Have your own original, valid document available. Check the expiry date and whether the name and document number are readable. Photograph the sides or pages requested on your screen; do not assume every document needs the same pair of images.
If you only have a saved ID photo, open the verification step and check whether it offers file upload or live capture. Obtain your valid original when the page asks for it or for a live photograph. If your ID has expired, is damaged or is absent from the document choices, check the accepted alternatives. Where the options remain unclear, describe the document you have to official support before preparing a replacement.
Your real country of residence
Use where you actually live for the residence field, and the document's issuing country where that is requested. These can differ. Read the field label instead of copying the same country into both. Proof of address, if requested
A utility bill or bank statement may be suitable, but the type, ownership and date must meet the current request. Binance's residential address instructions have different date limits and accepted documents for different regions. Do not assume that any statement from the last six months is acceptable.
Check that the document shows the required name, residential address, issuer and issue date. Use the address you are asked to verify, not an old address retained on an unrelated document. If the bill belongs to a parent or landlord, look up the permitted alternatives before uploading it. The no bill in your name section covers that situation without assuming another person's bill will be accepted.
If no address document has been requested, you do not need to collect one just to follow this checklist. If it is requested and you cannot meet the conditions, ask official support which documents apply to your circumstances. Do not edit names or dates on a statement.

Read the terms and privacy notice presented with the current registration flow before agreeing. Account eligibility, age conditions and service availability need to be checked for your circumstances. Being able to open a homepage, or finding an app in a store, does not by itself establish eligibility.
If the confirmed official service displays a restriction or directs you to a separate platform, read that notice before continuing. This guide covers Binance.com registration. It does not establish that another regional platform has the same account, verification requirements or invitation terms. Do not change your stated residence to make the options appear.
If a restriction is unclear, note the exact message, the step where it appeared and the official website or app entry you used. Ask support which condition needs attention. Once that requirement is clear, decide whether you need another document or access to an existing account. Keep the explanation with your registration notes so you can return to the correct step without repeating the same form while the cause remains unresolved.
Questions before you start
Do I need both an email address and a phone number?
Start with a method offered on your registration screen. For email sign-up, check that inbox; for phone sign-up, check the number and SMS reception. A provider route may request contact details later, so prepare the method named on that next screen.
Do I need all verification documents before signing up?
Account creation comes before identity verification. Have your valid ID and a device that can take the requested pictures ready if you want to continue immediately. Prepare other documents, such as proof of address, when the page identifies the accepted type, required name and date limit.
Does everyone need proof of address?
Check your own verification page and notifications. If proof of address is requested, prepare a document from the applicable list; otherwise, continue with the steps already shown. Accepted documents and issue-date limits vary by region.
Does it cost anything to sign up?
The English registration page captured for our guide describes creating a free account. That does not promise that later services are free. If a person asks you to pay them to create the account, stop and check through the confirmed official service before sending anything.
